pink pills, pink lies. (drabble)

╱ * “𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐘 will say I’ve shed innocent blood, that I’ve massacred many for the sake of a cause that was unjust. But what does blood exist for? If it is not meant to be shed?”

𝐇𝐄𝐑 father’s words burned like a 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐘 flame, the orange colored, smouldering embers engulfed in his ascension of addiction. It was about 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐘. It made so much more sense now. 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐍 was the color of 𝐄𝐍𝐕𝐘, 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃 controls the transaction of how the world went round. 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐘 corrupts and demoralizes a nation. It is the cause of 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃 being shed. Why do you think countries tend to support war? There’s money involved for the spilling of innocent blood onto the concrete. A call to arms is made and everyone involved gets to have a plate to eat, except the citizens who are considered peasants of the hierarchy. In her father’s jurisdiction, it was 𝐍𝐎 different.

𝐃𝐑𝐔𝐆 dealing was filled with dishonesty, betrayal, and the 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐑𝐄 of money. It was a vicious cycle that went around and around. Drug distributors fell in love with the 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 of chasing money and the 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 that came along with it. Her father wasn’t exempt to that. On the other hand, SÉLINE was on the other side of the spectrum. It was like the urge of taking a pill 𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐃 into her thoughts like a storm, the ill winds hollowed inside of her stomach, whistling in high pitch sounds that created a false tranquility. The gust of wind formulated this ominous aura of grey, but there were flashes of white, tumbling through the turbulence. It was as if she was 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐂𝐊 at sea. The torrents rippled, the forceful winds was tunneling, and the impact caused a 𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐇𝐄 inside of her body. 𝐈𝐓 was like she was drowning in an ocean of 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐑, but it was tears. It didn’t stop until it washed all of what was left inside of her. It was so wrong, but it felt so 𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓.

𝐒𝐇𝐄 knew that is the same way her mother felt. The 𝐒𝐔𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 of drug addiction lied deep inside of her body like deep ocean currents, stirring the depths of the turbulence with this 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐓 force of misery. It was either 𝐃𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐍 or 𝐒𝐖𝐈𝐌. Her mother 𝐃𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐍𝐄𝐃, the waves were filled with this ferocious ferocity, and it ultimately led her to 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇. Drugs drove her body to unconscionable acts of depravity, doing any and everything to attain her last hit. SÉLINE always wondered, did her father lead her mother to through this path of fatality? He was her 𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐑. He had complete 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 to what she desired. Would she end up just like her mother? Fall in love toxically with not only a man, but a form of addiction.

𝐒𝐇𝐄 could remember the day she found her mother dead, lying on the kitchen floor. Her soul was 𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐃, devoid of skin, with her eyes fixed and vacant. There was heaviness in her limbs as much as her mind. It felt as if there was an emptiness in her heart, a shear of nothingness and darkness that formed, tendrils of inkling beak that somehow took over and held her soul and strangled it with emotion. She was 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐊𝐄𝐍. Her mother was gone. It was this heavy feeling. The weight of the world is resting on her shoulders and there was nothing she could do to get out from under it. It's like this hole in her heart was in the shape of the one she lost. She couldn’t wipe the tears away, and while falling to the floor in a disheveled heap, the 𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐅 poured out in a flood of uncontrollable tears.

𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 she was, infront if the mirror, with cold sweat glistening on her furrowed eyebrow, with a tumultuous thudding of her heart. 𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 was calling her. Limp extremities just creaked and cracked under the pressure of her body. It was telling her to “𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐍”. She could feel her gut twisting in anticipation of the incomparable feeling that awaited her. Tears slid down her pretty face and the palms of her hands itched. The two pills that sat on top of the countertop of the bathroom was 𝐔𝐑𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆 her. Finally, she answered, “𝐈 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔.”, succumbing to the demon of addiction, just like her mother. Will her life end in the same tragedy?
