━ ( ♫ ) halloween prompt for OTG. / ' costume shopping. '
“Are you almost done?” Dinah called out in the direction of the dressing room, finding herself having to raise her voice in order to be heard over the store’s radio, which currently blasted ‘Dragula’. It was a dinky, but admittedly well-stocked little costume shop that she and Diana had long since hatched a tradition of visiting over the Halloween season; though, in recent years, the trip had become increasingly more for entertainment purposes than a genuine hunt for suitable new costumes.
An affirmative noise was her only response, and for a moment, Dinah almost felt bad — she had been the one to insist that her friend try on this particular getup. Her sympathy, however, was short-lived; as a rack of fishnets caught her eye amongst the store’s abundant display of tights and stockings. While she generally subscribed to the notion that fishnets were fishnets, so long as they were black, twenty-five cents a pair seemed suspiciously cheap. Curious, she picked up a plastic-lined package to examine.
As she caught the ‘click’ of the lock that signaled the dressing room door opening, Dinah held up the pair in question. “Hey, Diana, what do you think of— oh, wow.”
Clad in a knockoff Wonder Woman costume that could only be described as priceless
, Diana stood in the doorway, expectantly awaiting a consensus. Between the flimsy plastic tiara and the glittery tulle bottoms that looked more like a tutu than a skirt, Dinah had to raise the back of her hand to her mouth to stifle her laughter. “You look absolutely precious.”
