Selina Kyle

There was a sense of accomplishment in it all.  The planning of it, the careful selection of her equipment and the anticipation of the event.  Even now, as her fingers moved the glass cutter, she felt a thrill.  She was suspended upside down from the ceiling of the museum, the glass case beneath her didn't hold jewels but a few rare Eqyptian treasures.  She grinned as she reached inside the case and removed each of the small figurines.  She secured them in the pouch attached at her waist, it's padding would keep them safe.

Moving back up the rope, she almost laughed.  Whereever Batman was, he had not caught up to her this night.  It was a triumph.  She'd certainly found him to be distractable, and that was his undoing tonight.  She had him waiting for her elsewhere, probably musing over the fact that she was late.  Another night she would taunt him, saying that he should be more careful in taking her teasing seriously.  She climbed out the window and looked about.  It was still all clear.

Repelling down the side of the museum, her eyes moved up to the skyline.  It wasn't until her feet touched the ground that she saw him on the neighboring roof, an outline darker than the shadows around her.  She stepped back from her rope and laughed.  This was their game, and she enjoyed it.  "Too late...but I'm sure watching me escape will ease your pain.  I know you enjoy the view of it.   Another night I might meet you and dance for you.  But then, we are always dancing, are we not?"  She hurried off into the shadows, unsure if he would follow or not.
