Becoming.

BecomingI - Ordinary Day. As he spoke, he spokeordinary words although they did not feel it, for I felt what I had not feltbefore and you'd swear those words could heal. And, as I looked up into thoseeyes, his vision borrows mine and I know he's no stranger for I feel I've heldhim for all of time. He said "Take my hand, live while you can. Don't you seeyour dreams lie right in the palm of your hand?"Mid-September in Boston was far from a tropical climate, as Zipporahwas quickly finding out. The sidewalk beneath her was dirty and stained with achill that seeped through her thin jeans. A tattered and worn hoodie was wrapped around her but provided little protection against the chilly night air.For a few hours, she'd been able to stay warm inside the convenience store but once the owner had found her curled up in the back next to the heater andrealized she wasn't going to be buying anything, she was booted outside. Now, she sat on the ground right outside the entrance. Her legs werepulled up close to her chest and her chin rested on her knee. The cold wassomething she could deal with, as unpleasant as it may be, but the gnawinghunger causing her stomach to growl was a bit more unbearable. It'd been fourmonths since she'd had a decent meal. Since then, she'd survived on scraps andthe small things she could steal. Living on the street had forced her to pickup skills as a thief. People had a tendency to be cruel and although they couldsee the teenager suffering, they always turned a blind eye or did worse - theyridiculed her. Stealing had become the only way to keep herself fed. It washard to hide much in her worn down hoodie so she often had to resort to liftingwallets out of pockets. The first few times, it'd been tough and she'd gottencaught. Although the police had never been called, she'd ended up with a blackeye or two. Eventually, she'd learned to commit the act without getting caughtbut it was rare that she got away with more than a few dollars.Tonight, it looked like she'd have to make a go for it again. Herdark eyes glanced around in prayed for an easy target. That prayer was answeredwhen a man strolled out of the store. He had paused in front of a beat upMustang to open a cigarette pack. From this angle, she couldn't see his face, only his semi-long blonde hair and the back of his leather jacket. The Latinapushed herself up from the ground and silently came up behind him. While hisarms were raised to lit his cigarette, she reached into his pocket ever socareful, making sure not to tug the fabric around it. Her fingertips brushedsomething hard. At first she thought it was one of those whiskey canteens thatalcoholic carried around but as her hand slide further in she felt somethingthat could only be a trigger. Zipporah froze, her eyes widening in shock. Before she had a chance to pull her hand away and run like a hell, a stronghand clamped down around her wrist...................................................................................."Fuck..." Billy groaned as he walked out of the store, his hand goingto his ribs to calm the sharp pain. Once again, Bones had decided that he'dmake a good punching bag. Although his father had never needed much of anexcuse to start pounding on the eldest Darley, he always seemed to come up withsomething. Tonight, his reasoning had been that Billy had been short a couplehundred dollars on the weekly quota.  Joe, Billy's sixteen year old brother, hadgotten sick within the last week. When he complained that he couldn't breathe,Billy had taken him to the ER. While he was in the hospital with his brother,he hadn't been able to hit the streets and raise the last couple hundreddollars for the night. Bones didn't give a shit about that though. As far as hewas concerned, his sons were on their own and there was never a valid excusenot to have his money. Billy had just lucked out of taking a bullet and insteadtook a fist to the chin and a baseball bat to the ribs before he was able torun out of the bodyshop. He winced slightly as he lifted a cigarette to his lips and broughtthe flame of his lighter to end of the tobacco stick.  When he began to drop his arm, he felt astrange tug on his pocket and looked down to see a thin wrist leading out of it.He quickly grabbed the wrist and spun around to who had been intending to robhim. Much to his surprise, it was a young girl. She was maybe 4'11" in heightand she was so skinny that he would guess she was around eighty pounds.Although he could tell that her skin was naturally a caramel tone, she had thepale color of sickness, highlighted by dark circles under her eyes. It wasclear that she hadn't eaten much in a long time. And, it was always apparentthat she hadn't had a shower in while and had been wearing the same worn, dirtyclothes for just as long. Given her youth, he could safely assume she was a runaway. "The fuck ya doin'?" he asked, his hand still gripping her wrist. The girl looked up at him with a set of deep brown eyes. In herposition, most would have shown fear but he couldn't see that in her. Eithershe wasn't from around here and didn't know who he was or she must have had ahuge set of brass balls to try to pickpocket him and not be begging for mercy.Billy's reputation wasn't nearly as bad as Bones but he was quickly making a name for himself and the people in Stokley Hall knew not to cross him. He waited for her to answer but she just continued to stare up at him, her eyes switching towards her wrist for a brief moment as if she was indicating that he should let go. When she refused to speak, Billy reached down and began to sift through her pockets to make sure she hadn't managed to grab anything out of hisbefore he noticed her. The instant he touched her, she flinched with anexpression that Billy knew well. He'd done the same thing for years beforefinally kicking the habit and knew what caused it: getting beaten. For themoment he ignored that and found some kind of paper in the pocket of herhoodie. Pulling it out, he let go of her wrist. She could easily run from himnow but since he knew she wasn't taking off with anything of his, he didn'tcare. Plus, he had something of hers now.Opening the paper, he realized it was a birth certificate wrapped around her social security card. At least the girl had been smart enough tograb the two things before running away from where ever she came from."Zipporah Amadia Rejilios-Angel...quite a name." He remarked in a bit of ataunting tone. "From New York...Hispanic...born May 14th, 1990...Cubanmother and no father..." She was fifteen but because of her small size, he would've guessed she was a few years younger. Billy was actually surprised thatshe was still standing there and couldn't help but wonder what was running through her mind. He stood over a foot taller than her and weighed twice as much as her. If he wanted to hurt her, she'd be defenseless. And after trying to pickpocket him, he'd have every right to slap her around. Logically, he'dexpect her to be terrified but she seemed the opposite of that. She wasn'tcowering and hadn't taken a step back. Her chin was held high and her shoulderssquared off as if she were ready to strike him in an instant. The lack of fearwas something he found admirable, especially in such a small girl. Withoutsaying a single word, she had just earned his respect by standing her ground.Folding the paper back up, he held it out for her to take. "Youhungry?" He asked as she snatched the paper from his hand and stuffed it backin her pocket.  "Uh...hambre?" he rephrasedthe question, assuming that she didn't speak English because she hadn't beenanswering him. He only knew bits and pieces of Spanish from his freshman yearin high school and he was pretty sure he hadn't said the word right but sheseemed to understand him and nodded. He motioned to the passenger side of hiscar. "Vamos?" he urged her to get in. After having enough balls to try to robsomeone twice her size, he figured she'd earned a meal. The girl looked hesitate for a moment but the idea of getting food inher stomach was too tempting to turn down, even if it meant getting into a carwas a stranger who was carrying a gun. All it took was Billy offering her afriendly smile and she was getting into the Mustang. As they pulled off thecurb, Billy tried to remember more Spanish so he could ask her what she wantedto eat but he was drawing a blank. He'd never learned much in school. Bones hadalways been forcing him to skip and go deal. Eventually, Billy had just givenup on the book learning and dropped out.Once they'd pulled up to the apartment building, Billy lead herupstairs to the apartment he shared with Joe. Being quiet so he didn't wake upJoe, he unlocked the door and pushed it open before ushering her inside.Zipporah moved straight over to the heater and sat on the floor in front of it,causing Billy to raise an eyebrow. But, he wasn't going to question it.Shrugging off his jacket, he moved into the kitchen and opening up the fridgeto see what they had for food. Luckily for her, they happened to have leftoverChinese. He popped the food in the microwave and turned around to watch her.She seemed to have warmed up and was now walking around the living room, looking at the place. When he placed the plate of heated food down on the coffee table, shemoved over to sit on the couch. He turned for only a few minutes to throw thefood containers in the garbage and by the time he looked back at her, the foodwas gone. Apparently 'hungry' had been an understatement. She brought the plateover and handed it to him, giving him a small smile of thanks then began tohead towards the door. "Wait!" he called after her. Billy wasn't thefriendliest guy but he was intrigued by the girl. She was mysterious to him andthat was a mystery he wanted to unravel. He also remembered the way she'dflinched earlier. Whatever had caused her to have that tendency was somethinghe could relate to and that made him hesitant to just turn her away from hisdoor.Since his Spanish wasn't good enough to communicate with her, he seta hand on her shoulder and gently turned her back towards the living room. Hepointed his finger to the ground as a way of telling her to stay there thenmoved into the back of the apartment. From his bedroom, he grabbed a pair ofcloth basketball shorts and a T-shirt...along with a Spanish Dictionary hestill had from high school. The only reason he'd kept it was because he'dwritten down a girl's number in it but he was now thankful to still have it.  With the items in his hands, he returned tothe living room. He placed the clothes in her into her hand then flippedthrough the dictionary. "Ducha..." he pointed down to the bathroom."Dejar...su...ropa en...el lavabo. Lavar...les manana. Tu puede...sueno en...el sofa."Billy told her, having to pause after each word and flip through thedictionary. The two sentences had taken him a whole five minutes to say. When he closed the book and looked at her again, he could seeamusement lit up in her eyes and her lips subtly curving into a grin. He knewthat meant he'd just made himself look like an idiot by saying the whole thingwrong. Either way, she still understood him. As she turned and walked to thebathroom, he could've sworn he heard a soft giggle. "Dumbass..." he muttered tohimself once she shut the bathroom door, lightly scratching the back of hisneck as he tossed the book on the table............................................................................................In the morning, Billy had half expected her to be gone but when hewalked out, he saw her sitting on the couch and flipping through the TVguide.  He had been about to try to speakto her again when he heard a loud coughing come from Joe's room. Joe was slowlyrecovering for his bout of pneumonia and was still resting quite a bit. Billymerged into the younger Darley's room to check on him. "How ya feelin'?" Heasked, leaning against the door frame."Better...I think." Joe answered, pushing himself up to lean againstthe headboard. "I think I saw an angel this morning."Billy cocked a brow. "...Say what?""Dude...there was an angel in my room. I swear to god. She came outof nowhere and gave me cough syrup...and petted my head... and made my pillow allfluffy again...She had pretty eyes." The cough syrup part explained why Joe wasacting so loopy. "Was the angel Hispanic?" The elder brother asked with a grin, tryingnot to laugh."Yeah. Who woulda thought that angels are Spanish?...And that they'dbe wearing your clothes? Fuckin' trippy." Joe finished, slouching back down inthe bed and passing out again. Whatever kind of cough syrup that ER doctor hadprescribed him must have been damn good because the boy was out of it. With anamused shake of his head, Billy left the bedroom and returned to the small Latinaon his couch. He stared at her for a moment before running his hand through hisblond locks. He couldn't just let her go back on the streets. He was an assholebut he wasn't heartless. Despite his reputation, Billy wasn't the worse thingout there and a few local sex offenders popped into his head. She'd be an easytarget for them. Turning her over to social services was an option butconsidering that she was a run away, he doubted she'd be fond of that and wouldprobably just run off again. After a long moment of thought, he moved over andtook a seat on the coffee table in front of her.Once she looked up at him and set the TV Guide aside, Billy attemptedto communicate. "You.." he pointed to her. "want to stay here?" he gesturedaround the room and hoped she got the message despite the language barrier. "Livehere? With me and Joe?" The girl tilted her head and stared at him with thosebig brown eyes. He was starting to think she hadn't understood him until she crackeda big smile and nodded. Before he knew it, her thin arms were circling aroundhis neck and she pulled herself to him in a hug. Billy was thrown off guard anddidn't know how to react, sheepishly wrapping his arms around her in return. When she pulled back, the smile was still on her lips.Looking a bit uncomfortable, Billy stood up. He couldn't evenremember the last time he'd been hugged and it felt alien to him. On top ofthat, he didn't know what the hell to do with a fifteen year old girl. Henoticed she was still in his clothes and the clothing he found her in wasbeyond repair. "I guess we're going to have to get ya something to wear, huh?"he said, just to break the silence and get on more comfortable ground. He scratchedthe back of his neck as he turned away. This was going to be a strange change.

Plumber Guidelines
Current mood:  adored

Rules updated/changed 23/12/2012*oh look, we survived the apocalypse. I. Gwen Tennyson is property to Man of Action (MOA), the creators of Ben 10. I can play Gwen at varying different stages in her life, notably the original series, Alien Force, Ultimate Alien, and any alternate time-line variations which I will list:Ben 10 -- Gwen is 10 years of age. [ I will have to be convinced to play her this young, unless there is other Ben 10 role-players around to interact with. IE: Grandpa Max & Ben. ]Ben 10: Alien Force/Ultimate Alien -- Gwen is 15/16 years of age.Alternate Timeline[s]: I can play Gwen from the various alternate timelines that were presented in the series. I can play her as 'Gwendolyn', at 30 years of age, or when she's 40. I can even play her in the alternate timeline where she got the Omnitrix instead of Ben.However, default will be set to 16 [Ultimate Alien] unless I feel like switching it up.II. I am in no way, shape, or form, a grammar nazi. I make mistakes, as it is easy to overlook ones own writing but I do like effort put into the posts.  I will not tolerate hi ow r u 2dai. Role-plays will be paragraph and up to multi format in third person perspective. I don't really require you match my length word for word, some people seem to have the impression that you need to match. If we are a few paragraphs in difference I don't see the big deal as long as you portray what you're trying to do. However, if I send a four paragraph post and you send me back a few lines, I will not respond.III. I just want a nice environment to have fun and chat with potential role-play partners.     Anything I say or do in character will just be that, so please don't be offended by anything I say or do. Gwen is a nice girl, however, but she does have her moments too.IV. Do not harass me to finish replies. They get done when they get done. I have a life outside of RP.ME with a job, and my own downtime which consists of playing xbox. Just remember that role-play is a hobby, not a chore or job. If I can't get a reply done, I will give advanced notice if I am going to be away/hiatus/or whatever else have you.And hey, if you want to hit me up for a game, feel free to request my Gamertag. I have Vita/PSN, Wii, and a 3DS as well but 95% of the time I'm on xbox, or the 3DS. V. I don't do 'Mains', that is just stupid. I role-play with any and all and will add multiples of one character to my profile if I see fit to do so. VI. I love ships and exploring relationships but I will NEVER force a ship on you. Please extend the same courtesy.VII. I am a very friendly person, I love to meet new people and have fun. I love having discussions, whether intellectual or random. History is one thing I adore to talk about.VIII.  I come from Myspace where drama was as natural as breathing. I was probably one of the very few people who didn't have much drama to attend to because I am fairly oblivious when it comes to that sort of thing and if I was aware of it, I ignored it. We are all adults here, so please act like it. Yes, I am aware that we are still kids inside but I believe we can be fun and outgoing and able to act silly without resorting to childish behavior.I pride myself on being the type of person who welcomes everyone. You respect me, I respect you. Simple as that.IX. My biggest rule is relax, have fun, and enjoy our adventures. Just don't add me for a number, I do sporadic deleting sprees. - - - - - - -Please note that I have the right to accept you/deny you/turn down role-playing/delete you.

MY RULES (YES FINALLY MADE SOME)

**First off I would like it to be known that I will not always be at my computer when signed on. I maybe away from my desk or just doing something else at that point in time.**Disclaimer: I am not the girl on my page. She is fictional that i have made up. So don't ask if i am the girl you see. 1) Do not harass me. I will delete and block your ass quicker than you can make things right. I don't tolerate it, nor will I ever. You harass me and your off my list and blocked, I'll tell others to block you as well to save my friends from harassment that I have endured. Fair warning, don't do it.2) I am not always going to be on every single minute of every single day. I do have a life as well. If I will be gone for more than a day, I will be sure to let you know.3) Do not rush me to reply to you. I go in order of connections and then by the time they are sent in. There will be times I will only want to talk to a certain person and I will not reply to anyone but that person, deal with it or get off my page. 4) My character is my own. She is not yours. You do not god mode me ever. One warning and then if it continues you will be deleted from my page.5) I only do multi paras. 2-3 paragraphs. Any oneliners will be ignored. I will not do them. We all can be creative and write more than oneline. Use your brain and think before you reply to me, make it interested and detailed. 6) Don't steal anything from me. If you wish to use a picture, ask me. 7) Do not add me for numbers, I am here to roleplay, if you don't talk to me you will be off my page.8) NO DRAMA! NO NO DRAMA! I can not stress this rule enough. If you are a drama starter get off my page, don't even bother talking to me. You start drama with me and things won't be too good for you.9) don't harass my friends! my friends on here are my rp family. You hurt them and things will get ugly and quick. I won't stand for it and I know none of them will either. So just do yourself a favor and don't even start. If I think of anything else then I shall add them to here. Other than that, read and sign below.

ERANSHAHR - Rules for RP

Read & Sign the basic RULES: Accepted Verses No time-travelers! This Group accepts only characters that can fit into its time-setting: Classical Antiquity (35-27 BCE). All players must have characters that fit into a Ancient Historical setting with a realistic approach, that is based on actual historical facts only slightly fictionalized. No vampires, werewolves, zombies, demons, gods or other such creatures, although a minimum degree of sorcery is accepted. Supernatural elements must be kept to a minimum level! Genres and Rating This Group encourages the developing of stories in the following genres: Action, Adventure, Mystery, Suspense, War, Romance, Mysticism, Esotericism and other similar genres. This Group is rated M for Mature and will contain explicit depictions of violence, gore, sexuality and so on, as well as free-speech. This means that the characters are free to speak naturally, according to their personalities and sometimes this includes language that some might consider obscene or profane. Writing Style All players must be able to write a minimum of 3 complex paragraphs of about ten lines each. Writing will be done in the 3rd person, past tense (example: “He entered and spoke” instead of “He enters and speaks”). Required Presence For SL discussions and other OOC (out-of-character) discussions regarding the plot and sub-plots of the Group, as well as getting to know the characters you want to interact with, we hope to hear from you at least two times a week. For actual RP, once a SL (story-line) is established, you can take up to a week or more to reply. We don’t want rushed posts just for the sake of writing. Long Absences Please let us know in a message when you will be absent for more than one month. If you do not inform us of your leave and you are absent for three months your character will be given to someone else. If you had joined the Group with your own character, no one will claim it! The SLs you were in will simply continue without your character’s involvement or his/her entire involvement in it will be erased from the SL. Choice of Character The choice of character is basically unlimited! You can either create your own, original character or you can bring into the game a canon character from a movie, TV series, book etc., who would fit into the time setting of the Group. Also, you can take a certain canon character as a model and modify it according to your wish, creating thus an original character. Other characters you could choose are historical figures of the time. Playbys & Pictures All players must choose as their character’s playby (for original characters) only human faces of actors, actresses or other celebrities. No anime or cartoons and no real-life people (like yourself)! Video game characters are acceptable only if you also have pictures of a human face resembling that character. Don’t use pictures of your playby in modern-day clothes or settings! If you play an original character find pictures of your playby that could fit in the Group’s time setting (late antiquity) or choose a playby that has such pictures. Picture manipulations are also welcomed for giving your character a fitting look. For the sake of logic we cannot accept doubles when it comes to playbys. So if the playby you want/have for your character is already taken you must choose another one if you want to join! How & Where We Write We would very much like to bring over here the greatness of forum-style writing that make stories cohesive and help all characters in the Group interact better and be part of the same whole. For this reason we will be creating story-lines in blogs, where characters who have not been part of a certain story-line from the beginning can join at any time. If you want a certain character to respond to your post, just write < tag “Name of Character” > at the end of your post. Players who make the first post, as well as all the ones who reply to it, should write “LOCATION” and “TIME of DAY” at the beginning of each post to give a clear view of where and when the events occur. When the location and time change, these labels much change accordingly. Individual SLs, outside blogs, are also accepted but we want the common SLs to prevail, since this should be the point of an Interactive Writing Group in the first place. Forbidden actions NO controlling or killing other people’s characters, unless you have their permission. Outside the Group Members of the Group can RP with people outside of it. All we ask of those non-members is to add our page and share us around once in a while, and we will of course share them as well or repost something they might need. Members will not be forced to show their affiliation to the Group on their profiles. That is their choice. This Group is meant to serve as a background of information for the SLs of the members. So if a member is approached by someone outside the Group who wants to RP with them and are asked “what setting do you RP in” they can say this “one” and show them the Group. The non-members can then become familiar with the story of the Group and RP with a member without becoming members themselves.
