Personality
Michael was a loyal servant of God, and was willing to follow all his orders no matter how violent they were. Early in his life, Michael was feared as a vicious archangel known for carrying out horrific punishments in the name of God, including the Great Flood. Even though his dedication to duty is extremely important to Michael there are times when he would be willing to disobey his Father's commands. The most notable instance was when he refused to obliterate Lucifer's body and decided to give him a proper burial at sea knowing there was a risk the eldest of the archangels could someday return. That choice reveals Michael's love for his family. Even though Gabriel began the extermination war over God's disappearance and has continued to show he is a threat to mankind, Michael still holds affections for him even when he has had numerous opportunities to put him down and restore peace to the apocalypse torn world.
Michael still has faith in humanity and believes that they are worthy of redemption. This faith is sometimes tested and through those moments it is revealed that although Michael has calmed since his early days; he still possess that murderous and wrathful nature when he is pushed to it. No one is safe once he is consumed with rage. For betraying him in such a deep manner Michael slaughtered his long time lover, Becca Thorn, a few Vega soldiers and injured the one person he cherishes over any other; Alex Lannon.
When it comes to interpersonal relationships Michael can sometimes be difficult to get close to. He doesn't always warm up to people even though he is the defender of mankind. Even his connection with Alex was one that grew and developed over time. Michael admits while under the influence of the Amphora that at one time he only valued Alex for the Markings and questioned exactly how a tiny infant could possibly be the key to bringing God back to the world. He is a secondary father figure as well as friend to Alex and has a great sense of pride in how he has grown and developed over the last 25 years. Losing that bond would be one of the most devastating blows that could ever hit Michael.Despite being betrayed by those closest to him repeatedly, Michael never once loses faith and is willing to throw down his life for them if that was the only option.
