Malaika’s entrance into the world was seen as fortunate. Her parents hadn’t necessarily expected to have children but it was considered an honor to carry on the family lineage. Her father had been the head of a well-known crime family that had been in dominance for over a century. They were the initial proprietors of the island the Disney Park was eventually built on. She was treated like a princess and given the things necessary to prosper. With that grew a sense of entitlement. She deserved whatever it was that she wanted. Her attitude encouraged her parents to let her partake in smaller business meetings where she picked up on the tools she needed to take the position when she was old enough. The family had been promised a position on the board through contracts with Disney. When Magic Corp purchased the park they pushed her family out causing a rift between the two companies. Malaika’s parents were only fortunate enough to have minimal access, only owning shares of the park. They eventually died in an unexpected accident, leaving her orphaned and raised in boarding schools. When she graduated she took over her family’s business to the chagrin of Magic Corp. They refused her access into the company building and did not honor her late parent’s promise either. By then the Sents’s shares in the company had risen high enough that they would be offered a position if a board member resigned. Instead of waiting Malaika took revenge and killed Stefan, one of members she had known the longest and who trusted her. With him removed she was voted into the board and made a permanent member.
